Man Booker Prize Shortlist 2013

Two writers with Canadian ties are finalists for the 2013 Man Booker Prize, announced on September 10. New Zealand author Eleanor Catton whose book The Luminaries is nominated for the award was born in London, Ontario and attended Western University. American-born Ruth Ozeki is a Canadian citizen. Her novel A Tale for the Time Being is set on Cortes Island in British Columbia.

One of the most prestigious literary prizes, it is presented each year for a full length novel written in English by a citizen of the Commonwealth of Nations, the Republic of Ireland or Zimbabwe.
