June 4 is Hug Your Cat Day. It's not hard to join the festivities. All you have to do is find a willing cat and hug away. Remember that while some cats enjoy this sort of thing, others would rather just be friends. Make sure that the cat is a consenting participant or you may get a claw in the face.
A safe alternative is to read books about cats. Books rarely react negatively to being picked up and hugged.
