Free Science Events in Toronto for August 2019
The Business, Science & Technology Department of North York Central Library compiles a monthly calendar of free science and applied science events in Toronto. Applied science includes health, gardening, pets and food- all subjects found in the department's collection. Here is the August calendar (PDF).
August's highlights include:
Aug. 4, etc. The Distillery Family Yoga Series. 90 minutes of free kids’ outdoor yoga classes Sunday mornings throughout the Summer.
Aug. 11. Invasive Species Removal and Boulevard Beds. Maintenance aka weeding is as important as planting and equally rewarding. Once the weeds are removed the native plants have room to grow, display their beauty and do their work providing food and shelter for wildlife.
Aug. 19. Finding Joy and Humour in Caregiving. This interactive workshop is for family members and related caregivers of people living with dementia.
