Someday I will think of a clever title for this . . . just not today
Suicide Notes by Michael Thomas Ford is simply put an amazing novel. The main character Jeff awakes right after Christmas in a hospital. He has no idea how he got there or why he is there. He is even more confused when he finds out that he is in the psychiatric ward of the hospital and he has to stay there for a month.
Michael Thomas Ford is a celebrated author of satire, commentary and his adult gay fiction. Suicide Notes is his first foray into youth fiction and it is amazing. I personally read the book in one afternoon as I could not stop turning the pages to find out what happens next. Jeff is a great character who is well written and interesting, as are all the other youth in the ward with him.
The format of the novel is also unique as the book is Jeff's diary of his time in the hospital so each chapter is a day that he is there. So there are 28 chapters, some long, some short – all very interesting as Jeff comes to terms with the fact that he attempted suicide but does not remember the attempt or why.
amendment note: I have been informed by Mr. Ford himself that this book is NOT his first YA title. He has published 15 books under the name Isobel Bird and he also wrote 9 titles in the EERIE INDIANA series as Mike Ford. Thank you for clarification!

This will be next on my reading list. After I finish the truckload that’s already on it.
Trust me this books is well worth moving closer to the top of your list!
I am definitely going to read this book someday…after I finish the twenty other books on my reading list.
I hope you get through the 20 books fast enough to get to read this while it is still summer.
Wow I’m really excited about this book…Can’t wait to read it!
If you like it I recommend his other teen novel “Z” it is also amazeballs!
Wow, just by the look of it I want
to read this book badly
I haven’t read humor in a long time, I’m adding this to my never ending list of “Books I have to read before I die and if I don’t I won’t have a satisfying life because those books should’ve been read while I was alive and now I’m dead so that’s just great”
But it’ll be bumped up near the top just because it’s humor and I need a break from other genres.
Bump this book up, you’ll probably end up forgetting about this book by the time you are near finishing that list. Then you’ll unfortunately miss out on this book.
I am not sure this is classified as humour, it has funny moments, but it is more of a teen drama.
I agree with Asma on this. You should totally move this book up the list.
This sounds so exciting! I’ve have been wanting to read this book for some time every since my friend mentioned it a few months ago.
