  1. Well I think it doesn’t matter on the place you go but more about how much thought the person has put into it. For example, if you were to go to a quiet, mysterious place and have a meaningful conversation, that would be much better than if you were to go to an expensive restaurant but didn’t talk much. But getting to the point, I would choose a quiet place that’s fun to explore. A place that has many interesting and peculiar corners that few people have ventured into. Basically, a place that sparks my intrest. I would choose that over a five star restaurant anyday.

  2. I think that a good date idea would be some sort of city-wide treasure hunt. You could compile a list of unique things to find, and armed with a an old school map, the list, some TTC tickets and each other, you can go out and explore some of the parts of the city where you have never been or share your favourite parts of the city with one another, or discover a new spot in the city that can be your own special one. Personally, I think that it’s the recipe for a perfect date. There’s a whole lot of fun, a sprig of adventure, a dash of exercise, a sprinkle of competitive spirit and to top it all off, you can both enjoy a nice dinner at a great restaurant afterwards!

  3. If you really want to impress someone, you shouldn’t spend boatloads of money. Don’t take this person out to some black tie restaurant where the portions of food are smaller than a grown man’s fist. The only thing you’re showing them on that date is you know how to use Yellow Pages and follow directions. Special things never follow the rules, that’s why you’ll remember them. You’ll remember when you got lost trying to find the restaurant and stumbled upon a small diner that served the most amazing pizza you’ve ever eaten. You’ll remember the time your date spilled their water on the server, and how hard you both tried to cover up the laughter. You’ll remember the time the two of you made your own meal, and it may have been a disaster, but it tasted better than anything a restaurant could serve. The special moments in our lives come from mistakes.

  4. When the went to Amsterdam to meet Peter Van Houten. All the time they spent there was a big adventure, including their date, and the places they visited.

  5. An awesome date idea to impress someone special would be to go downtown. We would take a subway there, then go to the CN Tower and have a nice lunch there. The lunch would be a chance for us to talk to each other a little more. After, we would look at the view and take pictures. The two of us would spend time downtown until evening. We would have a fun time taking pictures and connecting with each other and our surroundings. This probably sounds cheesy but little things like these go a long way. You don’t have to go to the most expensive restaurant to impress someone. Enjoying your time and making mistakes are part of life’s experiences. This whole date is all about me having fun with my date and getting to know them better. The date does not have to be perfect.

  6. Hazel and Gus went to Amsterdam to meet Peter Van Houten (Hazel’s favourite author), because Gus is such a sweetheart and was willing to use his wish on Hazel. That’s true love in a book.

  7. I think an awesome place to take a date is to a place that is special to your date. If you take your date to a place where he/she had casually mentioned in a conversation with you ( “I loved going skating growing up” or “That diner was where my father first met my mother”) not only will he/she be surprised but will be impressed with how you remembered the little details in the conversations you had together.
A date at a place that is special to him/her will definitely make the date even more special to him/her!

  8. I always thought of their first adventure as the picnic at the park with the dinosaur bones.
Anyways, I think geocaching would be an awesome first date activity. It’s basically a huge treasure hunt- people bury something small and quirky in a random location and then leave clues to find that something online. You can download the app and it shows you geocaches in whatever area you’re in (the app is linked to a GPS) and then you choose the one you want to look for. Once you’ve found it, there’s this log book in which you write your name, the date you found the geocache, and a short message for the next person before you re-hide the geocache where you found it.
You can even create your own geocache and leave it somewhere meaningful to both of you- like a park bench where you ate ice cream on your first date- which is a cute way to have a physical memory of your first date. And you can always return to it, months or years later on another date to see the messages people have left for you c:

  9. For my special date for my special someone, I think the number one priority is to find the things you have in common. It would definitely help out a lot when planning a date. I like talking walks and watching the sunset and even though it may sound a little boring, we could always get a ball and toss it around; whether it would be a volleyball or a soccer ball. I know a park that has the perfect view of a sunset and perhaps we could watch it together. Hopefully we could see some stars at night so we can wish on something. I don’t think people should spend tons of money in order to impress someone. If you get them speechless (in a good way), I think your point or goal has be achieved. Get some humor within the date and the date should be fine from then 😉
