In May, staff members from Agincourt, Bridlewood and Steeles Branches had the opportunity to participate in the Steeles/L'Amoreaux Youth Empowerment Network Community Roadshows. The show is a partnership project presented by local youth agencies and neighbourhood high schools. Its goal is to reach out to students by setting up information booths during their lunch period in schools.

In Sir John A. Macdonald C.I., 80 students visited the Toronto Public Library booth on May 16, while at Dr. Norman Bethune C.I., Agincourt and Steeles library staff were kept busy informing students about the great volunteer and job opportunities with Toronto Public Library, and promoting the fantastic programs for youth at the library.

In addition to youth outreach, the Roadshow also helps develop a connection with local high school teachers. At L'Amoreaux CI, their teacher librarian met with a Bridlewood Branch staff member to discuss how the public library can support the First Language Reading project and the Boys Book Club in that school.
