Hey, it's still summer though admittedly it is winding down.  There is still time to squeeze in a few more great Summer Reads!  This time up, some fantastic Young Adult fiction.  Don't worry, though, these new and upcoming titles are great reads for any season, and you don't have to be a teen to enjoy these novels they are great adult reads too!

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein:  This book received some amazing reviews.  What an enthralling, surprising and shocking book!  Set during World War II and told from the alternating viewpoints of two unlikely best friends: Maddie, a working class girl with dreams of being a pilot and the mysterious, educated and aristocratic "Verity".  Also available as an ebook through Overdrive.

Every Day by David Levithan: Imagine waking up every day as a new person.  You live another sixteen year old's life just for a day, then move on to the next body, over and over again.  What happens if you live like this and fall in love?  That is just what happens to "A", who moves from life to life, problem to problem, body to body carefully not making any connections….until A meets Rhiannon, and can't live without her.  Fascinating and heartbreaking.   Available as an e-audiobook through Overdrive.

Unspoken: The Lynburn Legacy by Sarah Rees Brennan:  Kami Glass has a secret, she has an "imaginary" friend, someone she has talked to in her head since she was little.  Kami's normally ordered life is thrown into disarray when the mysterious and dangerous Lynburn family returns to the sleepy English village of Sorry in the Vale, along with teenage son Ash who might just be Kami's imaginary friend in the flesh.

The Montmaray Journals by Michelle Cooper: In A Brief History of Montmaray, Her Royal Highness, Sophie FitzOsborne lives in a dilapidated castle on the tiny island kingdom of Montmaray, with her tomboy younger sister Henry, brother Toby, beautiful cousin Veronica and Veronica's father, King John of Montmaray.  Her meticulous journal entries document daily struggles on the island, family drama and long held secrets and a dangerous turn of events when two German Nazi soldiers suddenly appear on the island.  Set just before and during World War II,  the two following novels The FitzOsbornes in Exile and The FitzOsbornes at War are fascinating.  You'll come to think of the FitzOsbornes as close family members by the end of the series and trust me, it will be sad to say good bye.
