Step into the World of Bellydancing at a Library Near You
As part of Culture Days @ the library celebrations, you can enjoy watching a bellydance performance by a professional dancer, Evyenia Karmi, who will also teach you the basic movements of bellydancing. Evyenia will perform at three libraries during the culture days weekend, from Sept 28 to Sept 30, 2012. To watch her performance, you can go to Highland Greek Library on Friday, Sept 28 at 1 pm. On Saturday Sept.29, you can go to Agincourt Library at 10:30 am, or Don Mills Library at 2 pm. Evyenia Karmi is a dance artist who has been giving bellydance performances in Toronto for 20 years. Her website will give you links to various musicians, bellydance magazines and bellydance costume stores.
Aside from the fact that bellydancing is such a glamorous form of dance, it is considered a great way to get in shape, and improve co-ordination and posture. What a great way to accomplish all that, while dancing on the beat of lively music. If you want to listen to music inspired by bellydancing, check our collection of bellydance music, specially those composed by Hossam Ramzy, a renowed percussionist with Egyptian and North African roots. Don't forget to also check bellydancing instructional DVDs.
If you want to learn more about how to bellydance, you can sign up for weekly Bellydance workshops at Agincourt Library on Tuesdays, from 7-8 pm, during the month of October.
