From “Eureka!” to “Hooray!” – TD Summer Reading Club at Bridlewood Branch
Thanks to Katherine for this update on fun Summer activities at Bridlewood Branch!
There were makers and shakers a plenty at this year’s TD Summer Reading Club at Bridlewood Branch!
Kids came in to do Book Reporting answering questions like “What kind of project could you make based on this (non-fiction) book?” and “If you could make something with one of the (fictional) characters who would it be and what would you make?”
Didn’t get a chance to tell us about your favourite book? Good news: TD SRC Book Reporting will continue at Bridlewood until Saturday, August 30, 2014.
And there was plenty of reasons to shout “Eureka!” at the TD Summer Reading Club – Children’s Programs too. We started by asking “What Kind of Maker Are You?” and crafting “Maker Selfies”.
Then we answered that question over the next six weeks by becoming “Music”, “Face”, “Sandwich”, and “Maker” Makers. Games, crafts, activities, and stories all helped to make these programs great!
Younger children and their caregivers joined in the TD Summer Reading Club fun at TD SRC Family Time. And what could they make? More music, faces, and snacks as well as a mess…which they “cleaned” up again! (And they got to make “Maker Selfies” too!)
A visit from the University of Toronto’s “Let’s Talk Science” program and a chance to “Giggle and Sing with Rob Joy” rounded out our 2014 TD Summer Reading Club Programs.
So “Hooray!” for all of the TD SRC fun…we can’t wait to see what will happen next year!
