Programs and Services for Newcomers at Albert Campbell Branch

Albert Campbell branch offers a variety of programs and services for newcomers to Canada.  The Library Settlement Partnership (LSP) is a co-sponsored service provided by Citizenship & Immigration Canada, Centre for Information and Community Services (CICS) & Toronto Public Library.  LSP workers are available in the branch for one-on-one consultations, and offer many interesting workshops for newcomers. 

The following list provides details for upcoming LSP programs being offered at Albert Campbell branch.  Registration can be done through the LSP worker at 416-894-2988, or the branch at 416-396-8890.

Community Connections Mentorship Program, Tuesdays & Wednesdays, November 9 to December 21 from 6:00-8:00pm

Learn Basic Computer Skills, Mondays: November 14, 21, 28 & December 5 from 4:00-5:30pm

High School Education System in Ontario, Tuesday November 15, 2011 from 5:30-7:00pm

Understanding Nutrition and Canadian Food, Monday November 21, 2011 from 4:00-5:30pm

The branch also has an After-School Newcomer Hub for students in grades 7 – 10. Free after school homework help is available in math, science, English, French, and other subjects as needed. Laptops are available for assignments and research. Gaming and other fun activities can also be enjoyed. 

The program is offered:

Mondays, 3:30-8:00pm
Tuesdays, 3:30-8:00pm
Wednesdays, 3:30-6:00pm
Thursdays, 3:30-6:00pm
Fridays, 3:30-6:00pm
