Workshop on Youth School Suspension and Expulsion @ Albert Campbell

Are you a student, or the paren't or caregiver of a student, who has been suspended or expelled from school? Do you want to know more about the causes and consequences of suspension and expulsion? Do you feel confused by the review and appeals process? Do you have questions about your rights and responsibilities? You are not alone!

According to the latest data from the Toronto District School Board, a total of 9,028 suspensions were issued to 6,184 different public school students during the 2010-2011 school year. In that same period, 35 students were expelled from Toronto's public schools.

Please join us at the Albert Campbell branch on Monday January 16, 2012, from 6-8 pm for a free workshop on the topic of suspension, expulsion, and youth. Presented by Paren'ts and Families Raising Safe Youth and Justice for Children and Youth, the workshop will offer information about student suspension and expulsion and also give you the chance to participate in group discussion and a question and answer session.
