Rob McConnell, Canadian jazz trombonist, composer, arranger, educator and big band leader, died May 1st in Toronto at the age of 75.    He was best known for his ensemble work with the Boss Brass and later with the Rob McConnell Tentet. McConnell was also a prize winner of multiple Juno and Grammy awards and was inducted into the Juno Jazz Hall of Fame in 1997.
