If you are visiting the Toronto Reference Library from now until the end of October, be sure to have a look at the latest display of vintage postcards from the Picture Collection.

"Shall I read you a Fairy Tale?" Here's a charming British card, published by Raphael Tuck and Sons, between 1905 and 1935.

"Anxious Moments" Another British card, this one published by Lagsdorff & Co., 1905 to 1914.

Find the milk in this card drawn by Eugen Hartung and published by Alfred Mainzer in Belgium. Hartung drew many of these cards in his lifetime. He died in 1973. These cards are very popular with collectors and the library has about a dozen of them.

Now find the Picture Collection! Hint: in October, as part of the revitalization and renovation of the Reference Library, the Picture Collection is being relocated to the 4th floor, by the elevators.

Our postcards can only be viewed in the library, but staff will be pleased to show you over a million other printed images, in the circulating picture collection, that you can borrow.
