The Best Christmas Song….The Waitresses ” Christmas Wrapping “
I would suggest Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses is the best Christmas song ever. It has a catchy tune, clever lyrics and a joyful beat you can dance to.
I could be persuaded that Johnny Mathis' crooning voice singing Christmas songs may be a close second. If you are an X-Files fan, you may remember the very scarey episode "Home" where they played his song "Wonderful Wonderful". I read Mathis would not allow his voice so someone who sounded like him is actually singing.
For those who are a bit more traditional, I would like to recommend one of Toronto Public Library's newest online resources – the Naxos Music Library. You can listen to great music spanning medieval to modern – classical, jazz, electronic, world music etc. and find expert educational content as well.
I tried a quick search for the Vienna Boys Choir singing Stille Nacht (Silent Night) and quickly found it and listened to it online free of charge. All you need is your Toronto Public library card and your PIN. In our catalogue www.tpl.ca simply search for Naxos and it's very easy to use after that.
Why not let us know what your favorite Christmas song is by leaving a comment?

South Park has added much to the festive season playlist, but my favourite Christmas song remains Everclear’s “I Will Be Hating You for Christmas”. It’s bouncy, danceable and filled with seasonal angst.
Thanks M for that suggestion – here’s a link to Youtube for those who might be interested in Everclear’s song:

In terms of South Park – Mr Hankey has certainly been both prolific and creative with his Christmas songs!
I love the soundtrack to Charlie Brown’s Christmas, composed by Vince Guaraldi. (Hint, hint)
Thanks Jessica – here’s a guitar solo version of Christmas Time is Here” Vince Guaraldi
