CASTING CALL – THE BLUFFS

Please submit headshot and resume to midtwentiestheatre@gmail.com. Chosen performers will be contacted and be asked to prepare a short-monologue and/or provided sides materials.

 

*Please note that if you are unable to make the audition dates in-person but are interested in submitting, we will accept self-tapes. Please state if you would prefer this audition style and we will send you sides and tape submission deadline.

 

PROJECT SYNOPSIS:

A young woman encounters the ghost of her recently deceased girlfriend while clearing out her private lakehouse.

 

NOTE BELOW:

World Premiere of an original play by a local Toronto Writer. Will be a 7-show run in July 2024. Rehearsals will take place mid-May to June.

 

*Please note that all characters are OPEN ETHNICITY.

 

ROLES:

 

ELEANOR (mid 20s/early 30s, open ethnicity)

Kind and compassionate. Eleanor sees the best in others and the worst in herself, but her tolerance has a limit…

 

JORDAN (mid 20s/early 30s, open ethnicity)

Jordan’s mask of sweetness and humility hides a deep resentment for the way he’s felt under-appreciated his entire life.

 

MACY (mid 20s/early 30s, open ethnicity)

Macy is witty and confrontational. She presents herself as strong and unflappable to hide her nervous insecurity.

 

LORIE (mid 20s/early 30s, open ethnicity, SILENT ROLE)

When she was alive, Lorie was loud and outspoken, at the edge of being cruel. As a ghost, she’s weighed down by guilt for the ways her actions hurt the people she loved.
