This LHION doesn’t roar……
Do you want to be more involved in your child’s education but don’t know how? The Lawrence Heights Inter-Organization Network (LHION) has made it easy!!
On Saturday April 9th, 2011 paren'ts will have the opportunity to mingle with teachers and support staff from local schools and participate in workshops that explain the Ontario School System. Our very own children’s librarian from Barbara Frum Library will be also presenting an interactive workshop on effective strategies for raising a successful reader. Many paren'ts don’t realize that literacy starts with birth, this workshop will outline what paren'ts can do to ensure their children become avid readers!
If you’re worried about transportation and/or daycare, LHION’s got you covered and will be providing free transportation from a number of pick-up locations as well as free on-site daycare.
The Toronto Public Library has been in collaboration with LHION for several years and works collectively to support and promote community empowerment. TPL’s primary goal is to ensure that information is readily available to all members of the community.
Join us and the rest of the Lawrence Heights Community on April 9th and support education to children in your community.
