Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Canada (Toronto)
In celebration of the Silver Anniversary of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Canada (Toronto), highlights from significant moments in its history are on display at Barbara Frum Library. The exhibit is curated by Elaine Cheskes, in association with the North York Central Library.
Come and see early documents of the founding of JGS of Canada (Toronto), and memorabilia from workshops, programs, and conferences. View uniquely created family trees, early editions of Shem Tov, and material from the award granting ceremony by the IAJGS in 2000 to the JGS of Canada (Toronto) for the publication, “A Guide to Jewish Genealogy for Teenagers and Young Adults.”
Also presented for viewing is material from their projects; the Rotenberg Ledger, the New JGS (Toronto) Website, the Digital Photography of Cemeteries, The Family Finder, and the exhibit, “Tracing Our Jewish Roots”.
Selections of significant genealogical research books from the JGS (Toronto) Library and the NYCL Library, together with photos from the 25th Anniversary celebration are also on display.
