Atwood at Word on the Street

Margaret Atwood will launch of her next novel, The Year of the Flood, at Toronto's Word on the Street festival on September 27, 2009. The author will also speak with readers at Word on the Street festivals in Vancouver and Halifax via video broadcast.

The Year of the Flood is a continuation of the story of a dystopian future begun in Atwood's previous novel, Oryx and Crake.

Ms. Atwood recently penned Persiflage in the Library to assist Toronto Public Library's fund-raising efforts. Ms. Atwood also asked for children’s artwork to help illustrate her new story. Check out the winning entries on our website.

Toronto's Word on the Street festival is a day-long celebration of books and magazines, at Queen's Park. While you are there, don't forget to stop by the Toronto Public Library booths. There are events planned for the entire day.
