Charlaine Harris, author of the Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries, which led to the TV show True Blood, has written another mystery series. In this series, a young girl, Harper Connelly, is hit by lightning and her life is changed forever. She now has the ability to find dead bodies and see how they died.
Harper and her step-brother, Tolliver, turn this ability into a business. However, they soon realize that making a living by putting the minds of victim’s families to rest is not an easy task. Locating the bodies of missing people and discovering how they really died leads to an endless list of murder suspects! Uncovering two bodies buried together, or learning that a woman had died giving birth rather than from a ruptured appendix are only two examples of the strange cases Harper and Tolliver encounter.
When they are not searching through deserted woods, roads, and graveyards, Harper and Tolliver are looking for their own missing sister. Harper’s sister, Cameron, disappeared as a teenager and now Harper feels she must find her…dead or alive.
