More about Anne and her creator
The Blythes are Quoted (see posting two below) is only the latest in a long string of books by and about L. M. Montgomery. 
Another recent must for Anne fans is the prequel to Anne of Green
Gables which was published in 2008, to celebrate the centenary of the
original publication. Before Green Gables by Budge Wilson is a wonderful story, and very true to the original, albeit written for a 21st century audience. It
chronicles Anne's life from her birth to her meeting with Matthew and Marilla.
For those who want to know more about L. M. Montgomery herself, there are numerous choices. I especially recommend her Journals, and two new biographies. The first is by literary novelist Jane Urquhart who wrote Lucy Maud Montgomery (2009) for the Penguin Lives series of Extraordinary Canadians. The second much more comprehensive and scholarly treatment is by Mary Rubio (who was the co-editor of the journals) – Lucy Maud Montgomery: The Gift of Wings (2008).
