Barbara Kingsolver wins the 2010 Orange Prize for Fiction

Barbara Kingsolver‘s long awaited novel The Lacuna has won'the 2010 Orange Prize for Fiction.

Daisy Goodwin, the chairwoman of the judges, said in a statement, “We chose The Lacuna because it is a book of breathtaking scale and shattering moments of poignancy.”


Lacuna This is Barbara Kingsolver’s first novel since she shot to fame over 10 years ago with her bestseller The Poisonwood Bible.
  “The Lacuna” has received love it or hate it reviews but sounds fascinating to me as her main character grows up in Mexico during the revolution and meets Leon Trotsky while working for artists Frida Kahlo & Diego Rivera.
