In 1978, The Bookseller, a trade magazine for publishers, established an award to honour the oddest book title at the Frankfurt Book Fair.  Now open to all books, the titles are nominated and the winner is chosen by the public.  No actual prize is awarded, although Daina Taimina author of the 2009 winner, Crocheting Adventures with Hyperbolic Planes, saw sales of her book increase significantly following the announcement.

This year the prize was awarded to Managing a Dental Practice the Genghis Khan Way by Michael R. Young.
