Michael Crummey nominated for IMPAC Dublin award

Galore, by Canadian writer Michael Crummey is a finalist for the IMPAC Dublin Literary award.  According to the author himself it is a "multi-generational family epic that incorporates elements of magic-realism, mythology and folklore, historical fiction, social commentary, bawdy humour".  The much praised novel won'the Canadian Author's Association Literary Award and the Commonwealth Writers Regional Prize for the Caribbean and Canada.  It was also nominated for the Governor General's Literary Award.

The IMPAC Dublin Award is one of the world's most lucrative literary prizes.  Administered by Dublin City Public Libraries, titles are nominated by public libraries around the world.
