James Gleick wins Royal Society Winton Science Prize

On November 26, The Royal Society Winton Science Prize was presented to James Gleick for his book The Information: a History, a Theory and a Flood. The prize is awarded for science books that are "accessible, interesting and compelling accounts of the world around us or inside us". Gleick's book describes the ways information has been transmitted throughout history, how methods of communication have developed and how information itself has driven civilization.
