Hey, Cinderella: Classics, retold.
I know I should make time for the classics – but there are so many interesting spins on them that I'm falling a bit behind on the originals!
Here are some titles to check out if you're looking for some re-imaginings of older tales.
For a spin on beloved fairytales try these:
Cinder by Marissa Meyer (a teen twist on Cinderella)
– Read it as an audiobook and eAudiobook –
Ash by Malinda Lo (a teen twist on Cinderella)
– Read it as an eBook –
Briar Rose by Jane Yolen (a teen twist on Sleeping Beauty)
– Check out other versions of this tale here. –
The Child Thief by Brom (a twist on Peter Pan)
For a Shakespearean take, try:
The Loser’s Guide to Life and Love by A.E. Cannon (a teen spin on A Midsummer's Night's Dream)
A Thousand Acres by Jane Smiley (a spin on King Lear)
– Read it as an audiobook and eBook. –
For graphic novel lovers:
Tamara Drewe by Posy Simmonds (a twist on Thomas Hardy's Far From the Madding Crowd)

Other classic retellings:
When She Woke by Hilary Mantel (a twist on Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter)
– Read it as an audiobook and eBook –
The Flight of Gemma Hardy by Margot Livesey (a twist on Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre)
– Read it in large print and as an eBook –
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (a twist on Homer's The Illiad)

Thanks for the retold recommendations! Will check out Tamara Drewe. U should read “Rapunzel’s Revenge” a graphic retelling of Rapunzel. Can b found at TPL. It blends in bits of classic story while creating a tale full of adventure, change and love. It’s by Shannon & Dean Hale; can read (& reread) in a day. You can also enjoy the sequel; “Calamity Jack”.
Enjoy!
