RBC Taylor Prize Shortlist Announced

On January 15, the finalists for the 2014 RBC Taylor Prize were announced. The award, formerly known as the Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-Fiction, will be "awarded to the author whose book best combines a superb command of the English language, an elegance of style, and a subtlety of thought and perception".

In addition to sponsorship from RBC Wealth Management and the name change, a new award has been added. The RBC Taylor Prize Emerging Writers Award will be given to a promising Canadian non-fiction writer between the ages of 18-35. The RBC Taylor Prize winner will select the winner of this award and will become a mentor for the writer chosen.

The winners of the RBC Taylor Prize and the RBC Taylor Prize Emerging Writers Award will be announced on March 10.
