The Vacationers by Emma Post
The Post family takes a two week vacation in Mallorca, relieved to have a temporary break from tensions at home in Manhattan. The holiday is a celebration of Franny and Jim’s 35th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately they aren’t on speaking terms right now. Franny is a controlling wife and mother. Jim’s infidelity (with an intern at work) has recently resulted in the loss of his job. Their daughter Sylvia just graduated from high school where she’s had a little trouble with some compromising photographs on Facebook. Son Bobby brings along his new, much older, girlfriend and a mountain of debt.
It’s a stunningly beautiful vacation spot but soon the Posts and friends run out of things to do other than get on each other’s nerves.
