To kill a mockingbird 225

Six-year-old Jean Louise Finch, known as Scout, and her brother Jem, live in Maycomb, Alabama, a town that has not fared well during the Great Depression. Atticus Finch is a prominent lawyer in the town, so he and his children have lived relatively comfortably. There isn’t much for children to do during the summer, so Jem and Scout, along with their imaginative friend Dill act out stories and observe the town. They are especially fascinated with Boo Radley a reclusive and mysterious neighbour and try to think of ways to interact with him. The white population in Maycomb is outraged by the arrest of Tom Robinson, a black man, who is accused of raping Mayella Ewell, a young white woman. Atticus is appointed to defend Robinson and community anger grows as the trial progresses.
