Spring Into Reading
Spring is finally coming to Toronto. I know it was officially spring March 20, but the weather is finally showing promise of warmth, sun shine and finally we can venture outside to read out favourite new books. There is nothing nicer than sitting outside a coffee shop with the sun on your face, a warm or cold drink in hand and a new book. Or maybe you prefer to visit a favourite park or perhaps even your own front porch allowing you to read and reacquaint yourself with your neighbours sans parkas. Here is an assortment of books to peruse in the fresh air, or in your home if it's raining outside.
Steve Berry brings back his spy-turned-bookshop-owner back to spy character Cotton Malone. This tale features conspiracies, old organizations who work behind the scenes, the Smithsonian and a dash of American history. A fun way to start your spring reading.

Astrophysics for People in a Hurry
Neil Degrasse Tyson is one of the rare scientists who make science cool and entertaining. He's like Bill Nye the Science Guy for adults. This book covers such questions as: What is the nature of space and time? How do people fit within the universe? How does the universe fit within them? It's never the wrong time of year to learn a little science.

This cozy mystery set in the Scottish Highlands is number 34 in the series starring the thoroughly unambitious Hamish Macbeth. The audiobook version features a reader with a slight Scottish brogue, making the story all the more enjoyable.
No Middle Name: Complete Collection of Jack Reacher Short Stories
Jack Reacher is one of my favourite characters with his clear moral compass, employment of deduction and clear thinking. This collection of short stories feature more of his adventures from when he was in the army and from his wandering days. A treat for any Reacher fans.

Perhaps you have a dog like mine who views spring as it's time to shed a whole coat of fur all over the house. We have books to help you with that too.

Kim Woodburn and Aggie MacKenzie had an extremely popular cleaning show in the UK called How Clean Is Your House? where they showed people how to properly clean. This very funny show gave you practical tips on how to clean and highlighted the importance of keeping a clean house.
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing
Book | eBook | Large Print | Audiobook | eAudiobook
This book exploded onto the scene asking readers to examine the possessions around them and truly evaluate their place in their lives. It asks you to touch everything you own and decide do you really want to keep it. If you do, the book shows how to better organize your possessions, explaining how to properly fold your socks and t-shirts, among many other tips. This book was so popular that the author Marie Kondo wrote a follow up entitled Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up.
If you have any favourite books to read on the patios or a cleaning tip you swear by please pass it along. Happy Reading!
