Fangirl Book CoverCath and Wren are identical twin sisters. They’ve shared everything their entire lives, including their love of the Simon Snow fiction series they read when they were kids. Now that they’re starting college, however, Wren has told Cath that she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath feels devastated and completely out of her element as she tries to explore this new world on her own, taking comfort in writing her online Simon Snow fanfiction. On top of that she has to deal with Reagan, her surly roommate and her charming, always-around boyfriend Levi; a fiction-writing professor who thinks that fanfiction is the same as plagiarism, no matter what Cath might say; Nick, a cute classmate who only wants to talk with her about words; and then there’s her father, who’s never really been alone before and who Cath now worries about constantly. Over the course of this first year of college, Cath must figure out if she can let go of her sister and really start living life on her own, even if it might mean leaving Simon Snow behind.

  1. I do like fanfiction, even though this book doesn’t focus on that. It seems to be mostly about character development and the maturity of someone to finally live their life.
