Consumer Reports Online: Check before Buying
Do you remember Bell Canada's slogan, "Let your fingers do the walking"?
This phrase refers to their Yellow Pages; a compilation of businesses arranged by category to help you save time when looking for a product or service.
But, if practical, unbiased information about products or services is what you're looking for, Consumer Reports magazine is a useful guide that may help you make an informed choice. It also includes information on safety issues and extras that may do nothing except add costs to the purchase price.
It is noteworthy that Consumer Reports magazine is published by a nonprofit organization. They do not accept advertising. The organization has a staff of 100+ experts; e.g. auto experts, engineers, nutritionists, etc., in order to compare, sort through, analyze, and report their findings to the consumer.
You thereby benefit from their clear advice, useful recommendations, and simple do's and don'ts.
The Toronto Public Library now offers access online to Consumer Reports through our web site. If you have an active TPL library card, click HERE to access.
