At the end of every year, many publications come up with editor's choices for the best books of the year.  The titles that get the most attention many times are the fiction award winners or best sellers.  However a well written business book, in uncertain times, can help make sense of the world around us. Many of the best business books of the past year were written on the banking and economic collapses.

Outstanding business books in any year are included in such sources as Amazon.com, Globe and Mail 100, New York Times, and Businessweek, to name a few.

Check out just a few of these business titles available at the Toronto Public Library that have won awards or been on editors pick lists:

The big short          Why your world is about           IOU

Facebook effect          Appetite for america       Noone would listen

Read a business book and better understand the world around you.

  1. Great list – thanks. Business books can be sexy! “The Facebook Effect” is a good choice for those who saw the film “The Social Network” and want to read more.

  2. Freethinkers are those who are willing to use their minds without prejudice and without fearing to understand things that clash with their own customs, privileges, or beliefs. This state of mind is not common, but it is essential for right thinking; where it is absent, discussion is apt to become worse than useless.
