New OverDrive Website Coming February 13
The new OverDrive website will launch next Monday, February 13th. To preview the website click here.
The updated website has been given a fresh new look and key enhancements include a simplified borrowing process and new browsing options. The transition to the new site should be seamless – checkouts, holds and wish lists will not be affected by the change.
More information about the new website and a short video demonstration can be found here.
Some of the enhancements include:
1. Faster response time
2. Auto-complete search functionality
3. New browsing options
A Subjects link and a Collections menu have been added, allowing you to browse all subjects or explore featured content on the website.

4. New availability banners
5. Renewals feature (only available upon launch)
You will be able to renew titles within three days of their expiration date (if there are any copies available) by selecting the Request again link on your Loans page.

6. Audience filter for search results

7. Account-level content preferences
You can set up filters in your Account settings if you wish to omit titles for certain audiences (.i.e. juvenile books) while browsing or searching.
If you would like to leave feedback about the new website you can do so here.

We aim to please. Happy reading!
Very excited about the ability to renew!!!
I already have the Overdrive app on my tablet. Will it automatically update to the new interface?
Hi Katherine,
Yes, my understanding is that the app will automatically link to the new website.
Glad to hear it! Many TPL customers asked for this feature to be added to OverDrive.
I like the new banners of availability – so much easier for quick browsing
I like the ease of the updated Overdrive. I enjoy downloading audiobooks to my smartphone.
Is there any way the audiobook reader information can be included in the summary? Or as an “author” to be searched. For many devoted audiobook listeners, the reader makes or breaks the book.
Thank you for improving the service.
Hi Marie,
I will pass on your suggestion to OverDrive – the narrator information is very important. You can pass along any other suggestions to OverDrive directly by cutting and pasting this URL into your browser: https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/3319952/OverDrive-feedback
Wow! I thought OverDrive was perfect before the upgrade.
I was wrong.
I love the renewal option!
OverDrive just keeps on getting better and better.
Thank you!
