Stream Live Classical Concerts and more with Medici.tv

Have you ever wished you could jet off to Switzerland to attend a music festival in the Alps? Or take a master class in your instrument with a world-famous musician? 

We've got the next best thing.  Medici.tv is an online channel offering streaming video of classical music concerts, operas and ballets, both live and on demand. It also features master classes by leading musicians as well as music documentaries. The site is available in English, French, Spanish and Russian. Subtitles are offered for some programs. 

With your valid Toronto Public Library card, you can view over 150 live events every year, broadcast from venues including Carnegie Hall, the Bolshoi Theater, the Opéra National de Paris, and many more. All live streams are also available to replay. To find them, you can go to tpl.ca/medici, or search for "medici" in our online catalogue.

  1. Thanks very much for this offering, I have been using this website for years. Now it’s even better as it’s free with my TPL account. Keep up the good work on all these online access.
    I hope you also look into the Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert Hall as well, it’s the best streaming site for live/archive classical concerts out there.

  2. It’s a shame that Medici TV is so problematic in its online broadcasting. The internet is strewn with complaints and to rub salt in the wound they completely ignore pleas for help! Very arrogant and annoying. Be very wary signing up with them. They ignore requests to unsubscribe and keep charging your credit card!

  3. Initially sceptical, about trimming Hoopla to get this service and the amount of free classical music elsewhere, I’ve been won over especially by the dance videos. Chromecasting into a large screen and good sound system is working well, and should be a must for future offerings.
