Attention: Photographers

If you’re thinking about buying a new camera soon, I want you to check out one of my favourite websites.  http://www.dpreview.com/

This website has the most information about any thing related to digital photography.  Extensive guides and reviews on new and past cameras.  So if you in the market for a brand new camera or a slightly used camera, you will be able to find the info you need to make a sound decision.

In addition to the reviews, you also have access to message board to share with other photographers and see what the might be saying about a certain topic.  Other highlights for me are the sections on lenses, galleries and the photography challenges.  Here you can enter one of your shots for a specific challenge and see how it measures up with an online vote.

The Toronto Public Library also has some resources to help you when you have finally made your decision.

Be sure to check out one of the most famous writers when it comes to anything Photography, Photoshop or Technology.  Scott Kelby has written over 40 books, and one I would recommend is: The Digital Photography Book. Volume 2: Step-by-Step secrets for how to make your photos look like the pros! Click here for more info

Also be sure to check out some of the Toronto Public Library online resources, including handbooks on digital photography and even specific cameras as well.  All available online for free.  You’ll need a library card to do a search, but it will be worth it.
