Windows 8
Happy
Windows 8 Day!
It's nice to be excited about some computer news that's not coming from Apple. Today
Microsoft launches its brand new, ultra slick operating system to the computer world. I would like to introduce you to Windows 8. It’s colourful and simple to look at and has
been designed to work on desktop computers, tablets and mobile devices.
It
instantly hits you with a brand new, redesigned Start screen. Advertised as being vibrant and beautiful, each
tile on the Start screen is connected to a person, app, website, playlist, or
whatever else is important to you. Tiles light up with the latest info, so
you're instantly up to date. In one glance, you'll see that photo you were just
tagged in, tomorrow’s weather and messages from your friends.
Protecting
this version of Windows has even changed.
With a new feature called picture
password, you can sign in by tracing a pattern on a picture of your choice
instead of typing a password. Zigzag over your dog’s face? Three taps on your
child’s nose? The choice is yours.
Your
photos, websites, that funny video you just saw: Pretty much anything you're
looking at, you can share with others. Instantly. There's no need to interrupt
what you're doing, copy what you want to share, open another app, and paste it
in. Just swipe in from the right and tap or click Share
to immediately send it in email or post it to your Facebook profile.
Some
new features are the same trusted tools we have been used to having with
Windows for years, but ultimately faster and easier to use now. Things like the control panel and task
manager.
Your next PC will do more and go
further, no matter which one you choose. The latest tablets are lightweight and
blazing fast, with extended battery life for greater mobility. Convertibles
give you the style and mobility of a tablet, and can also be snapped onto a
keyboard and turned into a full-power laptop. And our all-in-ones provide a new
level of power and style in a desktop PC.
Built
with innovative, ultra-light materials like duralumin, and with a new focus on
beautiful design, the new Windows tablets and
laptops are ready to slide into your bag and go where you go. Many new tablets and laptops enable their
apps to react when you tilt or rotate the screen, automatically adapt to
changes in lighting, and even let you touch two devices together to share a
photo or a web page.
As part of this launch; Microsoft is
also launching its online store, appropriately titled Windows Store where you
can buy Apps, Games, programs and more for all of their systems.

Have fun!!

Cool Stuff in Windows 8, but looks like a wee bit of a learning curve. I would have both Windows 7 and have Windows 8 installed on your machine for a while. I understand that Windows 8 is more geared toward a touch screen interface, with new update patches to be added. So, Windows 8 may not be in beta .. but things are still not nailed down perfect, Bloatware automatic installed and scrolling problems. I hope Windows 8 doesn’t become the New Vista Microsoft operating system for 2012. Interest in a comparison between desktop and tablet experience of Windows 8. Well, Windows 7 has 10 years support if Windows 8 becomes too problematic. Love or Hate it Windows 8 is here to try ..
Thanks for the Heads Up .
Interested to hear about the Windows Surface coming out happening ..
