“Digital Innovation Hub” Survey

August 28, 2013 | Greg Astill | Comments (1)

The Digital Design Studio is in line to get a makeover.   In the
new proposed space would be access to some of the most creative tools available
with a major emphasis on new technology, collaboration, learning and making
spaces.  In addition to the new updated
studio, there will also be a brand new “digital innovation hub” at the Fort York
Library, opening sometime in early 2014.

These “digital innovation hubs” will be specialized areas that allow
people to develop computer programs, applications, games, audio, video, graphic
design, use a 3D printer and also to make things. These spaces will also
encourage collaboration, experimentation, and learning.

  1. Sounds like a fantastic leap forward in providing us with even more of the needs and resources required in today’s world. My hat is off for those involved in this forward thinking and development, in making our libraries the resource place to go and doing it in a most exciting way, with the tools of now, sharing in the learning the tech of today. Bravo ! Well Done Guys .. Looking forward to the Grand New Makeover Reveal Soon and the future new “digital innovation hub” at the Fort York Library, opening sometime in early 2014. Good & Fun Times ahead, opening our minds with access & assistance to the tools & hands on experience & knowledge to keep up with technology of today.
