Wearable technology is an emerging discipline, with lots of buzz surrounding it in the news. How will this change our lives? Do we need wearable technologies? This talk will unpack the history of wearables, examine current trends, and speculate on the futures and challenges that arise from the adoption of body based technologies.Speaker Hillary Predko is a wearable technologist and fellow at Studio [Y]. Some of her projects include The Prosthetic Technologies of Being project is a collaboration between the Social Body Lab at OCAD University and Intel Research and the wearable light: Vega Edge.
