Music Tech MeetUp Record Store Day Event
On Thursday, April 19th, we are very excited to host and take part in the next Toronto Music Technology Meetup led by Alan Cross, an internationally recognized musicologist and host of the world’s longest-running music radio documentary, The Ongoing History of New Music.
This MeetUp is for anyone interested in music, technology and where the two intersect. It’s the perfect place for music industry professionals, enthusiasts and curious individuals alike to mingle, make connections and learn from each other. We’ll also be celebrating Record Store Day a little early with a vinyl listening station provided by NAD electronics.
The library will be showcasing many of the music related services, workshops, events and collections available for free in our branches. You’ll learn about the Digital Innovation Hubs, that lead the way with access to music tech equipment such as Ableton’s Push controller, MIDI keyboards, microphones and recording/editing software such as Adobe Audition and Logic Pro X. It’s not all about the digital tech, as we’ll also share information about the long-running Make Some Noise concert series, the Toronto Reference Library’s amazing vinyl collection, and more!
Please join us at the Toronto Reference Library in the Browsery and Atrium for an evening of music, tech and networking. Not only will you meet some great people and learn about the wide variety of music resources offered at your library, light refreshments will be available during the check-in period, between 5:30 and 6:00 pm. Presentations will run from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, followed by networking and a visit to the TRL Digital Innovation Hub. All are welcome at this free event but please RSVP here if you plan to attend.
