To celebrate Digital Literacy Day, we are hosting a Let's Learn Tech IoT Lab at Toronto Reference Library!

At this 2-hour beginner workshop, participants will gain hands-on experience in Raspberry Pi and Arduino. They will learn about the Let's Learn Tech Online program and career options in IoT. The workshop is open to anyone interested in learning more about IoT and no prior experience is required. An instructor from George Brown College will lead the lab and participants will work alongside in groups with facilitators.

This workshop is adapted from the lab exercise of the Introduction to IoT course, as part of the Let's Learn Tech Online program. Since launching the program in March, over 380 learners have participated in these free and interactive courses.

Three courses are available:

Introduction to IoT

Introduces you to the Internet of Things (IoT) and the challenges of the transformational IoT economy.

Introduction to Cybersecurity

Teaches you about different types of cyber attacks, measures organizations use to mitigate risks and career options in cybersecurity.

Linux Unhatched

Shows you the fundamentals of Linux and 19 basic commands. This course can also help you prepare for the CompTIA A+ certification exam.

Happy learning!
