Seniors

June is Senior's Month!

The age at which one is traditionally considered to be a senior is 65.  The number of Canadians reaching the age of 65 has increased to 2.2 million from 1.5 million between 1981 and 2005.  And the numbers are expected to double by 2031 as the baby boomers enter this age group.  For more information about Canada's seniors read A Portrait of Seniors in Canada, a report by Statistics Canada.

Do you need information about health matters including links to information about assistive devices, disabilities, meal services, health insurance, medications and drugs, physicians, home care and long-term care facilities?  Have a look at the Government of Canada's Seniors Canada: Health and Wellness site.
