Stand up straight!

A few years ago, on his birthday, my husband came down the stairs, totally bent over. I thought he was joking, but it turns out that he 'threw out his back'. Three weeks of almost-daily physiotherapy later, he was pain-free and standing taller than he ever had, or at least, since I've known him. So, for my husband, having good posture is a preventive measure to recurring back problems.

My teenage son has the same slouch my husband used to have. I nag him to "stand up straight! Stop slouching." Although his bad posture hasn't brought on any health problems yet, it makes him look tired, or worse, as if he doesn't care.  It certainly doesn't create a good impression with teachers or potential employers.

Join Susan Green for a dynamic presentation and demonstration on Physical Solutions to Posture Problems, Tension and Stress at North York Central Library on Tuesday October 14 at 7 pm.  Participants of all ages and fitness levels are welcome.
