Chocolate

As I am write this piece, I am taking moments to savour morsels of dark chocolate covered blueberry bites.  When I purchased this package of chocolate a few days ago, I expected the combination of dark chocolate and fruit to be a healthier choice to other chocolate options at the convenience store, thus fitting my New Year’s resolution to eat healthy.  Recently, a news item aired on the CBC's The National debunking the myth of chocolate as a superfood. The story claims that some commercial methods used to prepare chocolate – particularly when heating chocolate – reduces the potency of chocolate.

Below are a few books about the healthier side of chocolate.

Broccoli, love and dark chocolate by Liz Pearson  The healing powers of chocolate by Cal Orey   The chocolate therapist by Julie Pech  Cacao by Matthew Ruscigno  Chocolate a healthy passion by Shara Aaron  Choclate Unwrapped by Rowan Jacobsen
