A Look at Women’s Health for International Women’s Day
On Thursday March 8, we all celebrate International Women's Day
What is International Women's Day you ask? Starting in the early 1900s, this day marked a global day of celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity in things like education, political representation, business positions of power, etc. We have certainly seen women's issues on the rise of late, especially with Hollywood's #MeToo and #TimesUp movements. So in light of this important celebration, I thought I would focus our attention on women's health and wellness issues.

A quick scroll through our library's catalogue subject headings "Women's Health and Hygiene" and "Women's Wellness," we see topics ranging from heart health, self care, aging, beauty, physical fitness, cooking, family & reproductive health, and holistic approaches to health & wellness.

Side Note: Is my feminism showing or did anyone else cringe a little bit seeing the type of books geared towards women's health & wellness? Surely we should focus on more than aging, beauty and cooking (/weight loss), which make up the majority of published topics!
Nevertheless, here are my picks of fantastic TPL resources, on an array of topics, geared towards women's health and wellness!
