Virtual Career Fair – register now!
From Thursday May 28 to Thursday June 11, 2009, there will be an online job fair at Working.com with employers from the public sector, health care, retail, finance, and engineering areas as well as a general category. The job fair will feature employers from across the country, with entry level to senior executive positions available. Pre-registration has already started and employers are reviewing resumes.
The Virtual Career Fair offers you the chance to chat online one-on-one with potential employers. The event has attracted some larger companies, according to a Montreal Gazette article.
For help with the site, see the FAQ. There are options for application confidentiality on Working.com. I have not tested how these apply for the Virtual Career Fair.
Tips for success:
How to attend a virtual job fair Keep your resume handy while online with an employer; communicate carefully and professionally.
Interviewing in cyberspace Check out all the help on the job fair site; ask for a follow-up interview; remember that everything you say is on record.
