Summer Jobs in Toronto – Government Subsidized Jobs and More

June 7, 2009 | Frances | Comments (0)

The Ontario government is subsidizing summer jobs for students. To get one of these jobs, contact a community agency that has the Summer Jobs Service.

To make it a little easier for you, here is a list of some of the Toronto agencies that have the Summer Jobs Service. When you talk to them, double-check they have government-subsidized jobs.

  • St. Stephen's Community House  Email them at sjs1@ststephenshouse.com
or go to 1415 Bathurst Street, 2nd Floor, Toronto, ON M5R 3H8. In June,
they are open until 7pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for students.
  • Woodgreen Summer Jobs Service for Students  Telephone them at 416-462-3110 ext. 0 or email them at
youthjobs@woodgreen.org or visit them at 989 Danforth Avenue, Toronto
    M4J 1M1
  • YES Youth Employment Services for Toronto youth. Apply online or telephone them at 416-504-5516. Check their summer job board. YES also has part-time and full-time jobs.
  • YMCA of Greater Toronto
Pick your most convenient location, register online and search their
job boards. In Toronto, there are locations in Etobicoke, North York
and Scarborough. There are other GTA locations as well.
  • If you live in Crescent Town, Dorset Park, Eglinton East-Kennedy Park, Flemingdon Park/Victoria Village, Jamestown, Jane-Finch, Kingston-Galloway, Lawrence Heights,
Malvern, Scarborough Village, Steeles-L'Amoureaux, Westminster-Branson, Weston-Mt. Denis, call Tropicana Community Services (416) 439-9009 for more info and an application form. Or see Tropicana's service for youth website:  AYCE. They list some jobs on their website.
