Fake Job Ads: It Happens More Often Than You Think!

The latest issue of MoneySense had an interesting article about job ads that are posted externally and yet are filled internally. It seems that the jobs were already earmarked for an internal candidate. However, on a more ominous note, there are job ads out there that aren't actually jobs – rather, they are SCAMS! They entice job seekers to sign up for their fee-for-service or accept fake money deposits and in the process, the job seekers divulge their account numbers, etc.

Out of curiosity, I searched other sources and found this missive. I found it quite revealing and maybe you will too. For more information, check out the collection of recommended websites from our Job and Career webpage on the Toronto Public Library website.
