Just Who Are Canada’s Top Employers for 2015?
Mediacorp Canada Inc. just released the winners of their annual editorial competition of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2015. Featured as a special supplement in The Globe and Mail in the November 4th issue, and on their job search site Eluta.ca, this list has the best companies and organizations to work for in Canada, companies who are in the forefront of their industry in hiring and keeping their employees.
This list speaks volumes when it comes to which companies excel at what they do. And just what do these employers across various sectors do better than others in their industry? According to the blue-ribbon Academic Advisory Board who oversees the competition, the selection is based on eight criteria. Employers are evaluated on: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications(6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.
The Advisory Board members also come with some pretty impressive credentials. Not only do they hail from universities across the country but each have either written or edited a major Human Resources textbook in Canada. “The distinguishing feature of the project is that its editors publish detailed reasons, providing transparency in the selection of winners and practical guidance for job-seekers about exceptional workplaces.”
In addition to this competition, the editors have several other competition winners to announce in December. Look for the Ten Best Companies to Work For 2015 (Financial Post, December 4th); Greater Toronto’s Top Employers (The Globe and Mail magazine, December 8th); and Canada’s Top Family-Friendly Employers 2015 (The Globe and Mail, December 9th).
