Jobs For Lazy People
I recently wrote a blog about The Best Part time Jobs for anyone looking to work outside the traditional 9-5 hours, but what if even that seemed like a little too much work for you? What if you believe you're just not made to work…that work is the enemy. Well there's good news for you! Because there are jobs out there tailor-made for the lazy!
It's common North American practice (and maybe elsewhere in the world too!) to bond with friends and colleagues by complaining about work. Working is one of those things that we all sort of have to do, since we've 'got to pay the bills.' Once we've landed that first job, we instantly become part of this community of complainers, who get together after work at happy hour or perhaps on the weekend at a BBQ, to vent about the latest work drama. Forbes lists the top five reasons for quitting one's job as stability, compensation, respect, health benefits and work-life balance.
It may be after many years of lacking a few of these things in one's position that bitterness builds-up towards having to work at all! And hence, we end up having a group of people who are capable and smart, yet feeling a bit lazy. And lazy isn't seen as a negative quality either. Many employers are actually seeking out lazy people because they use their energy and time more efficiently (read: get more done in a shorter amount of time) leaving these lazy people much happier as they spend the rest of their days doing whatever it is they want (read: sleep!). It's a win-win. So what are some of these jobs I'm talking about? From reading various articles, the job titles that keep coming up are:
1. Computer programmer (many problems become repetitive and easy to solve, and bonus: you don't have to wear a suit every morning!)
2. Teaching English in another country (high demand and not a lot of schooling required)
3. Creative director (being paid to look around for inspiration all day? Count me in!)
4. Seamstress/tailor (considered one of the least stressful jobs!)
5. Hotel sleep tester (need I say more?)
6. Radio host (you may have to wake up early, but you're only on-air for a few hours being paid to chat)
And if you happen to be a boss with some lazy employees, take a look at this article for tips on how to get the most out of them!
Happy job-hunting!

I’m sorry but you are obviously not a very technical person if you think computer programmer is a job for lazy people. Unless you are very lucky and only have to support one piece of proprietary software on a small set of hardware you are constantly writing and re-writing code to work in litterally thousands of variable environments; but, yes, you probably won’t have to wear a suit.
As for teaching English in another country, you’re right. Also judging by casual friends, acquaintances and the homework I’ve seen from cousins overseas, you don’t have to know English either. I’m talking about the homework assignments not my cousins’ answers to the homework.
Awesome read 🙂 Thanks for the tips.
