Library settlement partnerships

Are you new to Canada? If so, welcome! Perhaps you could use some help searching for a job? Toronto Public Library once again partners with other service organizations to provide job search help, this time with a workshop focussing on new job search strategies. It’s presented as part of our series of programs with Library Settlement Partnerships, a partnership with Citizen and Immigration Canada, the YMCA and Toronto Public Library.

You are invited to come to the Discussion Room (next to the Writers’ Room) on the 3rd floor of the Toronto Reference Library from 1:00 p.m.3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016.

As well, Toronto Public Library, and in particular the Toronto Reference Library, has many Library Resources for Job Searching, including job hunting resources, company and industry information, as well as interview materials.

You can find many of these books in the Career Collection at the Toronto Reference Library (TRL). Most of the books in this collection, unlike the majority of the books at TRL, can be signed out with your library card.

Our New to Canada landing page also provides information about Jobs, Training & Certification. Included is a link to this Career and Job Search Help blog, called there Career and Job Search News. As well, you’ll find links to New Resume and Cover Letter Books, as well as Related Links. To find more links of interest, try our Recommended Websites. The Employment Links for New Canadians sub-category, from the Job Search and Careers category, might be of most interest.

Please also feel free to visit a Newcomer Information Centre near you.
